You will need to be as agile and nimble as the agency to produce consistently great work on a range of products from hospitals to diagnostics to pharmaceuticals through multiple channels.

As a freelance Senior Art Director, you will be responsible for the conception, design, and execution of innovative visual materials for integrated, cross-channel initiatives including traditional and digital initiatives. You should possess strong conceptual and design skills and assist the team in improving the conceptual, technical, and creative performance of our clients’ projects as well as understand the process by which a project moves from concept and rough layout, through tight comps, client comments, medical/regulatory submission, to a finished produced piece. The freelance Senior Art Director upholds the Agency’s core beliefs and is responsible for delivering best-in-class work. Must be collaborative, passionate, creative, and support diversity and inclusion efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to creative briefs and take direction with attention to detail, asking any questions necessary for clarification and follow through on all assignments
  • Deliver strategically sound communications by understanding how strategy informs creative development
  • Be able and willing to immerse in complex content, understand that content and its role in a given communication, and provide executional solutions to the challenge
  • Develop a range of creative concepts and designs for each project, partnering with copywriters to ensure that the art direction and visual presentation support the concept 
  • Communicate visual designs, motion design, concepts, and storyboards through presentations to secure client approval of recommended designs 
  • Inspire the team, juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and work closely with account team
  • Research and recommend suitable illustration, photography, and sound
  • Deliver creative in a timely fashion to meet set deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively
  • Capable of troubleshooting challenges by demonstrating creative problem solving
  • Develops a working knowledge of clients’ business by reading clinical studies and trade publications
  • Understands advertising fundamentals, including positioning, branding, and principles of good creative
  • Possesses solid oral and written communication skills
  • Works independently with minimal supervision
  • Recommends ways to improve work processes and efficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: Five to ten years in advertising; pharmaceutical/healthcare experience required; pharmaceutical agency experience desired
  • Art direction experience and formal design training with exceptional conceptual and design skills
  • Overall understanding of web design and the capabilities within digital channels is essential
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with creation and presentation of scientific tables and statistical data
  • Strong attention to detail

SENIOR HEALTHCARE COPYWRITER (FREELANCE/CONTRACT)

You will need to be as agile and nimble as the agency to produce consistently great work on a range of products from hospitals to diagnostics to pharmaceuticals through multiple channels.

As a freelance Senior Copywriter, you will balance creativity with common sense as a professional communicator capable of grasping challenges and devising imaginative, on-brand solutions. You will work closely with an art partner to create compelling advertising for both domestic and global clients and with other disciplines within the agency to stay on brief, on strategy, and on budget. You will collaborate to determine concept and copy direction, and interact with project teams to understand business objectives and audience demographics, translating concepts into effective messaging. You will also be called upon to contribute to brainstorming and creative brief development, support proprietary processes, and effectively present and sell agency recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop concepts with Art Director partner that resolve marketing problems in a fresh, unique, and original way while supporting and building the client’s brand
  • Work closely with Art Director to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style
  • Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts
  • Present ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively; verbalize the thoughts behind the idea and be able to relate them back to the communications objective
  • Be proactive in gaining a solid understanding of each client’s product, business, and customers
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle increasing independence and responsibilities and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work with team members across departments to ensure constant communication on projects
  • Develop proper presentation skills for client-facing projects

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles for a diverse group of clients
  • Capable of troubleshooting challenges by demonstrating creative problem solving
  • Develops a working knowledge of clients’ business by reading clinical studies and trade publications
  • Understands advertising fundamentals, including positioning, branding, and principles of good creative
  • Demonstrates an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Five to ten years in advertising; pharmaceutical/healthcare experience required
  • Exceptional writing skills, strong command of the English language, ability to use creativity in writing, good working knowledge of medical terminology and AMA style a plus
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with creation and presentation of scientific tables and statistical data
  • Honed presentation skills
  • Ability to appropriately obtain and utilize reference material
  • Strong attention to detail
